Augusta Chronicle Article on 30 years of Pro Life by Gary Garner

lifechain3In 1985, as I walked onto the sidewalk in front of Planned Parenthood at 1289 Broad St. in
Augusta, I had no idea what to expect. I didn’t really want to be there, but my conscience had sent me.

My wife and I recently had seen a video, The Silent Scream, which showed an in-process abortion of a well-formed midterm unborn baby trying to avoid the pain of its own impending death. As we watched this video, it forever ended the “no pain, just tissue” myth for us. Abortion would never again be an abstract dealing with “tissue,” but rather the willful extermination of a human being – as human and alive as any of us will ever be, just at an earlier stage.
